I am of the opinion that the American approach to media, while not without flaw, is one that should be emulated by other countries. This is mainly because when the government has the power to censor any media it deems inappropriate, it becomes incredibly difficult to make creative works that critically analyse culture, government and other systems that often need to be questioned. The approach of the Chinese government to media censorship is extremely harsh and allows for very little creative freedom. None of this is a commentary on Chinese people nor China as a whole, simply the governing body residing over it and some of the culture developed from it.
